These webpages are not to be used as legal documents, nor are they a complete listing of the current hunting regulations. The hunting maps are not legal documents but are included for reference to give a general outline of hunting areas in the NWT. 
Changes to the 2007/2008 Hunting Regulations

1) All hunters are limited to harvesting male barren-ground caribou. Please note proof of sex is required.

2) Barren-ground Caribou Wildlife Management Areas G/BC/02 (south of 66°N) (Gwich’in Settlement Region), S/BC/01 and S/BC/03 (Sahtu Settlement Region) are closed to all barren-ground caribou hunters.

3) The season for muskox hunting in S/MX/01 (Sahtu Settlement Region) will be open from 1 Aug – 15 Apr for non-resident and non-resident alien hunters.

4) Wolf tags will be available to non-resident and non-resident alien hunters from 1 Aug – 15 Apr in S/MX/01 (Sahtu Settlement Region).  

5) Wolverine tags will be available to non-resident and nonresident alien hunters from 1 Aug – 15 Apr in S/MX/01 (Sahtu Settlement Region).”
